Las Vegas Shows and Entertainment

Shows Like Nowhere Else in the World

When visiting Las Vegas, people should be aware that there is more to do than just gamble. Instead of staying in all night, consider going to see some world renowned Vegas entertainment. There are countless Las Vegas shows to attend that are based in Las Vegas Hotels, and many of these shows are award-winning masterpieces and the best Las Vegas entertainment available.

Cirque du Soleil is a company that runs several shows in Las Vegas. It can be described almost as a sort of human circus. There are six Cirque du Soleil Vegas shows – Mystère, O, Zumanity, KÀ, LOVE, and Criss Angel Believe. These shows are based permanently in Las Vegas and are attended by over 9,000 people a night.

Another Las Vegas show not to be missed is the Blue Man Group. The Blue Man Group is one of the most popular shows on the Las Vegas Strip. It features of trio of anonymous, mute blue men who explore themes and issues in modern life such as science, technology, information, and innocence, and perform rock music.

Vegas shows and entertainment don’t have to be expensive. You can still find a Vegas show or event to see even if you are on a shoestring budget. For instance, at Treasure Island you can watch the free outdoor show “Sirens of TI” featuring beautiful women, pirates and lots of explosions. Bellagio has a breathtaking choreographed dancing fountain water show, and an ever-changing botanical garden. Like the name suggests, Circus Circus has free circus acts, while Caesers Palace has two free shows of mythological proportions.

Las Vegas shows and entertainment also include musicals. Some musicals that have been based in Las Vegas for many years are Mamma Mia!, Phantom of the Opera and Jersey Boys. Mamma Mia! is based on the music of ABBA, and tells the story of a young girl searching for her father on the eve of her wedding. Phantom of the Opera, by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is about a mysterious, disfigured musical genius and his obsession with a beautiful young singer. Jersey Boys is a documentary style musical about the 1960’s rock and roll group The Four Seasons.

So when in Vegas, consider all your entertainment options. Have dinner at one of the many Las Vegas Restaurants around, and then enjoy a show afterward. Remember folks – Vegas isn’t the capital of show biz for nothing.
