Las Vegas Hotel Treasure Island

All about Treasure Island

If you’re looking for an interesting hotel to stay in, one Vegas hotel you should consider is the Treasure Island hotel. Many Las Vegas hotels are built and decorated according to a theme, and for the hotel Treasure Island, that theme is pirates. It is the only pirate themed hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.

The hotel takes its name from the book Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Treasure Island also goes by the name “TI,” an abbreviation it has adopted in the past few years. It has 2,665 rooms and 220 suites, and is one of the many hotelsopened by Mirage Resorts. Treasure Island Las Vegas originally started out as an addition to the neighboring Mirage, but eventually the concept turned into a separate hotel that opened in 1993.

At first, this Las Vegas hotel was kid friendly and family orientated, but in the recent years has been upgraded to a more adult environment. This can be seen most prominently in the transformation of “Buccaneer Bay” to “Siren’s Cove.” A show called “The Battle of Buccaneer Bay” used to be performed there, until it was changed to “Sirens of TI” in 2003. “The Battle of Buccaneer Bay” was a show for younger audiences, featuring a battle between two pirate ships, complete with fire and good-hearted pirate talk. “Sirens of TI” also has a battle between two pirate ships, however this time featuring scantily clad women singing modern pop songs that have little to do with piracy. Up until this change, Treasure Island was rated one of the most family friendly Vegas hotels.

The hotel Treasure Island Las Vegas has several nightclubs, including Christian Audigier, Mist, Kahunaville, Isle Tequila Bar and Breeze Bar. There are also plenty of fine Las Vegas Restaurants, including Khotan, Canter’s Deli, The Steak House, Pho, Isla Mexican Kitchen, and Kahunaville. After having a drink or a bite at one of these places, guests can head over to see the resident Cirque du Soleil show, Mystère. Mystère is directed by Franco Dragone and is regarded as a must see show.

The Treasure Island hotel Las Vegas definitely rates as one of the more fun Las Vegas Hotels. Where else can you find swashbuckling pirates, a custom made motorcycle done in the style of a Siren, or women walking around in leis? This is the only hotel that can pull this kind of thing off.
