All About Sin City

Las Vegas, Nevada has come by its nickname, Sin City, honestly. Vegas was established in an unlikely area of Nevada, the desert, in 1905, and it became home to mobsters in the 1940’s who envisioned it as a gambling mecca. Though legitimate businessmen became the norm in the 1960′s and onward, Vegas has retained its sinful image.

Home to the world renowned Las Vegas Strip, Sin City is famous for its themed hotels, adult entertainment, gambling, and glitz. In fact, the Las Vegas Strip and its surrounding area are so awash in lights, from space it is the brightest location on Earth. It’s no wonder that Vegas attracts visitors from all over the world.

The Las Vegas Strip is unlike any other 3.8 mile stretch of pavement in the United States. Lined with an assortment of hotels, museums, shopping malls, and residential high rises, its focus is on adults having fun and in a big way.

While New York, New York lures you into the Manhattan skyline, the Bellagio seduces with its gracious opulence, breathtaking botanical gardens, and for evening entertainment, the Fontana, a bar with lakeside ambiance.

Las Vegas restaurants are wonderfully sinful places as well. Visitors can enjoy any kind of cuisine imaginable. Among some of the best are Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Alize at the Wynn, and Emeril’s at the MGM Grand. The foods are as decadent as the city, and each evening can be a new sampling.

Vegas isn’t just that one portion of Las Vegas Boulevard, however. As a constantly growing city, it also includes top rated hotels just off the strip.
